The SPE UNICAMP Student Chapter is a non-profit association of students linked to the Petroleum Science and Engineering program at UNICAMP, being managed by graduate and undergraduate students. The SPE UNICAMP Student Chapter,  was founded in 1989, is the pioneer student organization of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) in Brazil. Since its foundation, the Chapter has sought to improve its activities, as a consequence, in the years 1999, 2009, 2014, 2015 and 2017, the Chapter received the Outstanding Student Chapter Award from the Latin America and the Caribbean (OSC) in recognition of excellence of student activities promoted.
